"Entering the second room...the tumult of talent continues. Yet one piece stands out in particular. Through a Glass Darkly, by Jane Domingos is a large oil painting situated in the centre of the room, astounding in both its depth and detail. In this painting, Domingos portrays four beautifully rendered and intricate vases in front of a deep window of blue and black. Though the detail and skill of the painting is impressive, truly the most striking element within the painting is the sense of something just not quite right. The artist captures a sense of the surreal, her work subtly reminiscent of the ideas and obscurities of Rene Magritte, however far more delicate in the handling of the subject."
